FAQ's (frequently asked questions)
You have questions, we have answers!
1. How long will this product last? (putting
turf)
Depending on use, 12-15 years or longer.
2. Is it okay to use a putting green in
the winter?
Sure it is, and we promote this as a way to keep
the winter golf blah's out. You know, " I wish I could be playing golf
somewhere". You now can play year round. Just remember to use a plastic shovel to
remove snow or a snowblower with rubber paddles, then a plastic shovel for touch-up. In
Nebraska there are plenty of days when the temperature is above freezing or a little below
and during a cold winter that feels preeeeetty warm!!
3. Can this be put indoors?
Installations are available indoors and outdoors.
4. What do you put the putting green on?
The most popular bases are concrete, crushed or
compacted stone, asphalt, or styrofoam (Expanded polystyrene, 2 lbs/sf). We highly
recommend concrete for outdoor use. It is more stable and we can put contours in also.
This will create real golf green putting conditions.
5. What is the speed of the roll?
Stimpmeter reading that is.
It varies from 7-10 or 11. The speed is
controlled by top dressing with silica sand into the putting turf fibers. The sand, when
properly top dressed, is hardly noticeable. This feature allows us to create real golf
course conditions, just like your home course, or club!
6. What is the most common size green?
A standard size green is 15 by 25 feet or 375sf.,
but any size or shape is available because this product seams very well. So any size is
possible! Maybe you can just do your whole yard! Wouldn't that be fun! Seriously, indoors
from 4 by 15 to 15 by 25, 15 by 15, an average size so far for the 19th Hole is 15 by 20.
Outdoors. Anything goes. Sand bunkers can be added. Fringe turf, tiered greens (on larger
sizes 600sf and up.) A 2000 sf. green could made to resemble a famous golf green (layout
of green and contours) The possibilities are endless. They are left up to your
imaginations and ours. |
